Kingdom of Lesotho
The Kingdom of Lesotho, one of the smallest countries in Africa, is an enclave, located entirely within the Republic of South Africa. The kingdom is also known as the Kingdom of the Sky for its especially high elevation.
Many children do not attend school even though school attendance has been free since 2000. As of 2005, 36% of Lesotho’s population was illiterate.
