Looking into the furnace
The melting of the silicon takes place at more than 1,400°C. This is followed by crystallization, the solidification of the silicon melt in a vertical direction, starting at the bottom of the crucible and forming a crystalline block.

Wafer production

Column making
Wire saws cut the silicon block. First the side sections are cut off and then the block is divided into square colums. The cross-section of the columns corresponds to format of the wafers to be produced later.

Final check
After removal of residue from the sawing process, each and every wafer is measured fully automatically and sorted with regard to thockness, surface quality and possible damage.

Solar cell production

Cleaning
Several cleaning baths remove the sawing damage coused in the wire sawing process and give the surface of the wafer a dstinct texture.

Diffusion
In the next step the p/n junction is achieved by way of phosphorous diffusion which makes the silicon conductive to electrons.

Surface coating
A blue anti-reflection layer redues optical losses and makes for an electrical passivation of the surface.

Classification

Module production

Connection into strings
The solar cells are soldered into cells strings by connecting the front of one cell by way of three soldered bands of the rear of the next cell.

Matrix unit
The matrix unit connects the strings into a matrix, an area of 60 solar cells. n the further course of production, a sandwich is made of solar glass. 3 films and solar cells.

Automatic junction box placement
In a unique, patented and fully automatic process the root places the connecting socket on the rear of the laminate creating the electrical connection.

Framing
After the robot has placed the laminates into the frameing station they are pressed into an aluminum frame. The following steps in the production line are performance measurement according to standard test conditions (STC) and the final packaging.
