SolarWorld seeks more solar talent for 201324-04-13
The application deadline for the SolarWorld Junior Einstein Award 2013 ends on 30 April
This year, already for the ninth time, SolarWorld AG will again present the SolarWorld Einstein Award. Over the years, the prize has become one of the most renowned honorary awards in the photovoltaic industry. The award acknowledges the outstanding achievements of international personalities from science, politics and society in the field of photovoltaics. SolarWorld Einstein Award winners to date include Dr. Hermann Scheer, Prof. Dr. Klaus Töpfer, Dr. Rupert Neudeck, Prof. Muhammed Yunus, Dr. Bertrand Piccard, and Günther Cramer, co-founder of SMA Technologie AG.
Young scientists can apply for the SolarWorld Junior Einstein Award with a piece of academic work regarding any aspect of photovoltaics or a related specialist field. The deadline for applications for the € 5,000 prize is April 30, 2013. The academic work can be a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Diploma thesis, or a doctoral thesis. Students at a university or university of applied sciences studying renewable energy, chemistry, physics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, engineering or process engineering are eligible to apply. In 2012, the young talent prize went to physicist Dr. Bianca Lim from the Institute for Solar Energy Research (ISFH) in Hameln, Germany, for her work on boron-oxygen compounds in silicon solar cells.
Both awards will be presented at a ceremonial event during the Intersolar Europe. The Intersolar Europe will be held in Munich from 19 to 21 June.
