SolarWorld AG presents on-grid and off-grid solutions at the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi16-01-12
SolarWorld AG will show solutions for on-grid and off-grid solar power systems at the 5th World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi. From January 16 to 19, 2012, visitors to the exhibition booth can also inform themselves about services that SolarWorld AG offers in the Arab region as a know-how partner.
“In this region solar power is the only alternative to oil and gas, which are too valuable to be burned for power generation,” says Dr.-Ing. E. h. Frank Asbeck, chairman and CEO of SolarWorld AG. “In the Arab region with its strong radiation of the sun, solar power systems have huge potential.”
In the United Arab Emirates and their neighboring countries, electricity is to a large extent generated from petroleum, which is why there is a growing demand for renewable energies. SolarWorld AG has implemented several solar power projects in the region. “Our customers are interested in high-quality solar panels made in Germany and they also want to implement the highest standards in project development,” says Asbeck. The exhibition booth will display crystalline solar power modules of different output categories that are suitable for both on-grid and off-grid applications.
SolarWorld AG is also involved in the region as an investor and partner in a polysilicon project. In neighboring Qatar, the company is currently expanding its activities at the beginning of the solar value chain in the joint venture Qatar Solar Technologies, establishing a factory that will produce roughly 8,000 annual tons of silicon starting in 2013.
