SolarWorld welcomes European solar manufacturers’ complaint against illegal Chinese price dumping of solar products26-07-12v3
SolarWorld AG welcomes the filing of a complaint by the European manufacturer initiative, EU Pro Sun, announced today against illegal price dumping of Chinese solar companies. As one of the world’s leading solar manufacturers, SolarWorld supports the new initiative, which brings together more than 20 European solar companies.
Dr.-Ing. E. h. Frank Asbeck, CEO of SolarWorld explains: “We speak for fair competition in Europe. Only through fair competition will it be possible to reach European climate goals, advance solar technology in the EU, and maintain a strong industrial base“.
Already at the end of 2011, the American subsidiary of SolarWorld AG supported a similar initiative in the USA. In May 2012, the United States Department of Commerce announced preliminary anti-dumping duties of more than 30 percent. “We are confident that the European Commission will understand the need to act, and will not waste time in adopting similar measures in Europe.” says Asbeck.
