SolarWorld among Dream Employers for Young Engineering Generation - Company Employs 25 per cent More People in First Half of 2009 than in the Same Period of the Previous Year21-08-09
SolarWorld AG is among the ideal employers of the young German engineering generation. This is shown by the “trendence Absolventenbarometer 2009” study of the Berlin trendence institute published by the German business magazine “Manager Magazin” today. As a newcomer SolarWorld attained an outstanding 15th place in the “Engineering Edition”. For the total of four editions of the study some 25,000 students were interviewed at German universities who were just about to take their final examinations.
Frank H. Asbeck, Chairman and CEO of SolarWorld AG: “Our naturally grown corporate culture, which is characterized by openness, a high level of personal responsibility and flat hierarchies, is among our strengths in the competition for new and highly qualified staff. We are very delighted with the result of the study. It proves that we now belong to the well-known German brands and that we have succeeded in establishing ourselves as a genuine dream employer”.
As the highest-placed newcomer in the Engineering Edition SolarWorld AG precisely corresponds –trendence institute points out – to the expectations that future engineers have with regard to their potential employers: a mixture of a fascinating future industry and high social responsibility.
SolarWorld pursues a sustainable development strategy, also for its employees – every new position is adjusted to the growth of the company in order to be able to offer all employees a long-term perspective. In the first half of 2009 there were more than 2,500 people working for SolarWorld worldwide. That was about 25 per cent more than in the same period of the previous year.
In 2008 SolarWorld had attained a noteworthy 57th place in the “Germany’s Best Employer” study by the Great Place To Work Institute Germany. SolarWorld employees interviewed for this survey positively emphasized the trust placed by superiors in their staff, the great fairness and the very good team orientation within the company.
“We look for employees who think independently and act under their personal responsibility, who call existing things into question and are open to innovation,” explains Chairman and CEO Frank H. Asbeck. “Working for SolarWorld is more than just a job. Every day we work on realizing our joint vision of a future-proof and fair energy supply.” SolarWorld will continue to grow – also in personnel terms. We are mainly looking for engineers in the areas of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, process technology, material sciences, physics and chemistry as well as for commercial experts.
