Questions and Answers

Why does SolarWorld care so much about compliance?

Why does SolarWorld care so much about compliance?

At SolarWorld group, we want to work fairly and honestly. That is our most basic conviction and it constitutes our day-to-day work. A global company like SolarWorld must not only obey all local laws, but also international law. A legal infraction can very quickly become an existential threat for the entire group. Studies show that without a corporate culture defined by honesty, the long-term competitiveness of the company shrinks: quality and innovative strength sink, motivation is reduced, employee turnover increases, and company loyalty is diminished, the company image sinks. By contrast, a corporate culture characterized by integrity increases performance and lays the foundation for long-term success.

What is SolarWorld SpeakUp?

What is SolarWorld SpeakUp?

We have commissioned the Dutch service provider People Intouch to create a protected, virtual room. Here, employees and top suppliers can clarify questions via telephone and online dealing with obeying the law, as well as internal guidelines and rules of behavior. And when desired, anonymously. This should be used as a "last resort", that is, when a concern cannot be brought to one of the other contact points. If you are a SolarWorld supplier and no longer have your access data, you can contact us at anytime through integrity[at]solarworld.de and request your access data. Employees can find extensive information on SolarWorld SpeakUp on the Compliance site of the group intranet page.

How does SpeakUp work for suppliers?

How does SpeakUp work for suppliers?

Suppliers can leave a message through the websystem that can also be printed out and documents attached directly in the system. At the end, the user receives a case number to later access the reply. People Intouch sends the message onto the Compliance Organization. The message is assessed by SolarWorld and a reply on People Intouch is sent. People Intouch gives the reply into the websystem. This occurs within one week. In order to access the reply, the supplier simply goes to the websystem and enters the case number. Afterwards a message can again be entered into the system by the supplier and the dialogue continues in this manner with SolarWorld.
