    The next annual general meeting will take place on May 20, 2010, in Bonn.

    Every shareholder can participate in the Annual General Meeting himself or can be represented by an agent. A requirement for participation is evidence of share ownership on a specific record date and a timely application.     For shareholders who are either unable or unwilling to attend the Annual General Meeting in person, it is possible to issue a proxy and instructions. A shareholder can give advance notice of proxy and instructions to specific voting rights representatives who are known to the company and can empower them to vote in accordance with his instructions. Furthermore, it is possible to issue a proxy to a credit institution or a shareholders’ association. The proxy and instructions are to be sent directly to the latter. Until 1998, the company was engaged in projects to produce renewable energy. On 12/18/1998, these activities were transferred to the newly founded SolarWorld AG, which went public on 11/08/1999.
